Calculators

Firewood is sold in units that are not standardized and pellets in units that are hard to compare. These four tools turn any quote into a number you can check.

Why these four

Nearly every firewood dispute comes down to the same thing: the buyer and the seller are using the word cord to mean different volumes. A face cord can be a third of a cord or a quarter of one depending on how the pieces were cut, and nothing in the name tells you which. Thecord calculator settles that in one measurement.

Pellets have the opposite problem. The unit is standard, a 2,000 pound ton of 40 lb bags, but nobody knows how many of them a winter takes until they have burned one. Theconsumption calculatorturns a feed rate into a shopping list, which is what you need in spring when pellets are cheapest.
