Publishes year over year price deltas on their own listing, which is unusual in this market.
Most pellet retailers do publish a price. That is unusual in this trade and it is the reason a pellet index is possible at all where a firewood one is not. The problem is the other half of the transaction: only 2 of the suppliers here state a delivery rate anywhere on their site.
That asymmetry is what makes naive price comparison dangerous. A supplier can list the lowest ton in the region and recover the difference on freight, and nothing on the page tells you before you call. Treat the price index as a shortlist of who to phone, not as a ranking of who is cheapest.
Some of the largest retailers in the sector are absent here by necessity. One national seller returns an error to automated requests. Another requires a zip code before showing any price at all, which means there is no single figure to record. We would rather say so than pad the list.
