How this site makes money
Cord & Pellet is free to read. It is funded in two ways, and we would rather tell you plainly than bury it in a footer.
- Affiliate links. Some outbound links to retailers pay us a commission if you buy after clicking. The price you pay is the same either way.
- Supplier referrals and advertising. Suppliers may pay to be contacted through the site or to advertise on it. Anything paid is labelled as such where it appears.
What money does not buy
This matters more than the paragraph above, so it gets its own heading.
- Prices are never influenced. Every figure in our pellet price index is an observation from a named source on a stated date. No supplier can pay to have a price changed, removed, or shown as lower than we recorded it.
- Rankings are not for sale. Where we order or compare products and suppliers, the order follows the stated criteria, not who pays us.
- Directory listings are earned, not bought. A supplier appears because we verified it exists and serves the area. Paying does not add one, and declining to pay does not remove one.
- We do not invent anything. No made-up suppliers, no made-up prices, no made-up reviews. If we have no verified data for a city or a brand, the page says so.
Not a store
We do not sell fuel and we do not take payment for it. Any purchase you make happens with the supplier or retailer directly, under their terms, and any problem with an order is between you and them. See ourTerms of Use for how to read our prices.
